DAMM releases VHF TETRA solution

DAMM has announced its VHF TETRA solution that will extend coverage in wide, rural areas or extensive underground environments and improve staff safety and operational efficiency.

Extend coverage: VHF is the very best solution to cover large open areas. It is ideal for outdoor applications where distance is the primary user need. The extended coverage also makes it easier to build overlapping coverage with base stations. VHF frequencies are extremely well suited for Australia with its vast rural areas as well as its many mining operations.

We are delighted that we can now offer VHF in TETRA mode to our customers,” says Geoff Wood, Technical Director at DAMM Australia.

Reduce operational costs: Benefitting from the overlapping VHF coverage and reduction of the number of base stations needed to cover the same area compared to UHF, the DAMM VHF TETRA solution will provide a significant reduction of the overall system’s costs.

Mix and Match VHF and UHF in same network: The company has also made it possible to run both VHF and UHF in the same network using separate BS422 base stations operating the DAMM TetraFlex software. This makes it both easy and affordable to extend an existing UHF network to include VHF in areas where this frequency band is more advantageous.

Choice of VHF TETRA terminals: DAMM’s co-operation with VHF TETRA terminal manufacturers such as Sepura and Funktel has enabled the company to offer hand-portables and mobile radios with superb functionality and outstanding audio, complementing your customised solution with all the voice and data functionalities expected from TETRA.
To support the VHF frequencies, the terminals can be operated using the DAMM MultiTech Outdoor System (BS422) in VHF.
